Was tutor to a large number of students in engineering courses at Starfleet Academy. He graduated with many honours, including best engineering design in a group project for a warp power booster for use in medium range shuttlecraft.

Three years later, after a commendation for actions during a disaster aboard the USS Eagle, Serynne was transferred to Starbase 21 where his standard Starfleet training in engineering was supplemented by command training.

Service =
USS Eagle 2378
Starbase 21 2378-2380
USS Cairns 2380-2382
USS Cairns-A 2382-2383
USS Kittyhawk 2383-2384
Starbase 281 2384
USS Poltergeist 2384
USS Charlestown 2384

In 2378, took over command of Engineering on the USS Eagle when a mid-warp collision with a micrometeorite caused a series of catastrophic failures that killed a third of the crew and left nearly half the ship exposed to vacuum, with the remainder powerless. Others claim that without his swift work in organising the remaining engineers into repair teams and his unorthodox jury-rigging of systems, the ship would have lost antimatter containment and been lost with all hands. Serynne claims that the whole event was 'a piece of cake'.

After command training and service on Starbase 21, Serynne was transferred to the USS Cairns as assistant chief engineer. Promoted to rank of lieutenant commander and chief of engineering on the USS Cairns-A following the destruction of the first USS Cairns in an engagement with rogue forces over Romulas.

Demoted to Lieutenant for reckless endangerment of federation personnel and property after an accident while racing workbees with Lieutenant Stephanie Earlton.

In October of 2383, Serynne was part of a small group of engineers who courageously risked their lives to pilot the USS Cairns-A clear of Starbase 747 before a warp core breach destroyed the ship. Shortly after his Lieutenant-Commander rank was reinstated and he accepted assignment aboard the USS Kittyhawk. His assignment was to be short-lived. For reasons unstated, he requested a transfer, and after several weeks aboard starbase 281, was reassigned to the USS Poltergeist for four months, then the USS Charlestown.

Serynne requested assignment to the USS Majestic and spent a week at Starbase Celestia.

Decorations: Service commendation and medal of valour for action taken aboard the USS Eagle during a crisis. Awarded the Starfleet Medal for his actions prior to the destruction of the USS Cairns-A

Reprimands: Reprimanded and demoted for reckless endangerment of federation personnel and property, following a workbee racing accident. Notes in his service record indicate that he has avoided or attempted to avoid mandatory psychological evaluations no fewer than thirteen times.

General history and Personality:
Serynne grew up in a large family. He was a quiet lad, who would much rather play with a plasma coil or read a book than socialise, much to his older sister's dismay. Valerie, the social butterfly of the family, quickly turned her attentions to Ethan, while Jessa tended more to follow Marc's lead. Thus were the teams set up for virtually every sibling competition, from snowball fights to hiking partners.

None of his family would have predicted his sudden personality shift when he joined Starfleet Academy, however.

At the Academy, Serynne's natural aptitude for engineering led his becoming a tutor for many of his classmates. A few of these began to praise and even worship his skills, which led to the exaggeration and over-dramatisation of his achievements with which he was for several years known.

After the destruction of the USS Cairns-A, and for reasons unknown to Marc, N'nuk Cy, his then girlfriend, refused to take his subspace calls. After a few months without a reply, Serynne tried to move on with his life, but seemed to have lost focus, flitting from one assignment to another without giving any reason. Perhaps even more disturbing, Serynne has alternated spending months alone with a series of one-night stands and week-long flings. He refuses to take counselling sessions.

Hair: Black
Eyes: Violet
Physdescription:
Serynne, by virtue of his diet and exercise routines, is not nearly so fragile as he looks. He is much stronger than most people expect from his skrawny frame. While his jet-black hair is faily common, his violet eyes are a shock upon first meetings.

Medical:
He is sensitive to light, and squints under anything brighter than starship lighting conditions. He prefers the dark, as his vision is very good in low light conditions.

Psychological:
Self-confident and strong-willed. Comical in nature, when situation allows. A little eccentric. Has a strong aversion to counsellors, claiming that psychoanalysis is a waste of his time.

Family:
(Parents, Sibs, Partners, Children)
Father: Jules (56)
Mother: Melinda (57)

Older Sister: Valerie (28)
Younger Brother: Ethan (24)
Younger Sister: Jessa (22)

Marc tends to write short letters to his family every couple of days, but sends them in packets twice a month rather than individually

Partners:
N'nuk Cy (2383)
Jennifer Wyatt (2378-2380)
Melissa Edwards (2377-2378)
Sarah Reynolds (2374-2377)
Chelsea Mowett (2374)
Shannon Faraday (2373-2374)

Marc is currently single, but keeps in touch with his old girlfriends almost as often as his close family. Only his long term relationships are listed here.

Children: None
